Renewed Darkglass Microtubes 500 V2 bass amplifier
Darkglass Microtubes® 500 V2 is a compact portable bass amplifier that, with suitable cabinets, offers a whopping 500 watts. It therefore reproduces all the necessary frequencies in accordance with the requirements of modern bass playing. Like its big brother Microtubes 900 V2, the Darkglass Microtubes 500 V2 is also equipped with an analog transistor preamplifier and a class D power amp.
Darkglass, founded in Helsinki by Chilean-born Douglas Castro , needs no introduction, at least if you ask almost any world-class bass player. Darkglass pedals are already well-known everywhere and now the conquest continues on the side of amplifiers. The Microtubes 500 V2 honorably follows in the footsteps of the 900 V2 model that entered the market.
Microtubes Engine, extensive EQ, compressor and speaker simulation
The Darkglass Microtubes 500 V2 amplifier offers a wide palette of everything you want from a bass sound. The top row has a clean section, which is used to build a solid foundation and botne for the sound. The compressor and six-band graphic equalizer are excellent tools for adjusting the base sound.
The front panel is completed by the Microtubes Engine® , a separately adjustable distortion channel that makes it easy to add distortion to the sound. Regardless of the music genre, the bass sound tolerates a surprising amount of distortion - that's what the Darkglass Microtubes 500 V2 also provides, from soft tube overdriven harmony all the way to the harshest distortions.
There are two overdrive circuits: the mid-range winning and softer VMT and the aggressive, punchy B3K. Both distortions are guided to the overall sound before the clean sound setting, so the balance between distortion and clean can be easily adjusted.
The rear panel offers speaker simulation and AUX IN selections. Thanks to USB, the device can be connected to the Darkglass Suite, which makes it easy to change the amplifier's period simulations and other parameters. The AUX IN connector makes it possible to play the background tape effortlessly from both a computer and a phone.
