Nick Johnston's strato is today
The title models of the Canadian prog guitarist Nick Johnston are both traditional-looking and at first glance very reduced versions of the well-known 1954 guitar classic. After a second look, however, the differences emerge, and you can also notice them when playing. On the electronic side, one volume and one tone are accompanied by a 5-position switch, with which the guitar's Schecter Diamond Nick Johnston Single Coil microphones can be used to get the familiar combinations.
The neck is dark roasted maple and the fingerboard is ebony, the neck profile is a thin C, and there are 22 X-jumbo size frets. Locking tuners keep the tune. Nick Johnston has several slightly different title designs, of which this one in Atomic Green is the most vintage-spirited interpretation of the common theme.
Of course, the Diamond series made in Indonesia differs even more from Nick Johnston's USA model, because the USA model has, so to speak, all possible and impossible goodies, from jescar silver frets to a makassar fingerboard and stepless microphone selector. In terms of basic features, it is still definitely a guitar from the same family. A very versatile and fast-playing, precision tool that respects tradition for everything you can do with a guitar.
