The Schecter PT Fastback is a versatile interpretation of the 1970s classic
At first glance, the Schecter PT Fastback looks like a Deluxe model T-guitar with Filtertron pickups, but it is more of a parallel model than a copy. The Fastback is a direct descendant of Pete Townshend's Schecter Saturns, which were used live by The Who from 1979 to 1988. The microphones are Schecter UltraTrons, equipped with half-coils for a slightly more T-guitar sound. For Pete Townshend, the Schecter was the perfect transition guitar from the LP model guitars to the T model guitars, and so is the PT Fastback.
Gloss black is the traditional color for these guitars, and still looks great. The alder body, maple neck and fingerboard, and 1-ply black and cream-white edging are a classic style. The neck's thin C profile, 22 X jumbo frets and 14″ radius are again modern choices with melody playing in mind. The whole is a balanced and versatile interpretation of the 1970s classic.
